Check out below our tips for learning how to do coordinate searches that you have available, as well as how to find geographic coordinates of places from Google Maps.
How Geographic Coordinates Work in Google Maps
There are a few ways to display geographic coordinates, and Google Maps supports three ways to search your platform: degrees, minutes, and seconds; degrees, minutes and decimal seconds; and decimal degrees.
The searcher recognizes only points, not commas; the latitude must come before the longitude; the latitude should be between -90 and 90; while the longitude should be between -180 and 180.
The most common format is using decimal degrees. In this type of survey, the best way to format the coordinates is -23.586425 -46.657578.
With these coordinates in hand, just enter them into the Maps search box for the service to display what exactly part of the world is that. It’s easy, is not it?
