How to solve if the cell phone screen keeps blinking?

If you are going through this nasty problem, which is when the smartphone screen keeps blinking, here are seven possible solutions that will help you solve this.

Is your smartphone screen behaving strangely? This may be happening for several reasons. Loose internal connections and software with bugs are just some of the problems that can cause the monitor to malfunction.

How to solve when the screen of the cell phone keeps blinking?

Here are 7 fixes that you can try if your smartphone screen is blinking.

1. Restart your phone

The easiest way to ensure this is not a temporary bug is to restart your smartphone. This causes all active third-party background services and processes to be deleted. It will also update the components of your device if any of them had problems during a task.

After the reboot, if the view is no longer failing, you should review all recent applications that you have installed.

2. Restore device

Restoration is the most rudimentary troubleshooting method you can perform, and for most problems, it will be useful.

Restoring to factory settings will completely wipe your device and its cache.

Therefore, if there is unprocessed data damaging the functions of your device, a forced restart will clean everything up immediately. Of course, you can back up your smartphone before you continue if you need something later.

On Android, you can reset your phone by going to Settings> System> Reset Options> Clear All Data.

IOS users should go to Settings> General, tap the Reset and Delete all content and settings button. Your iPhone will take a few minutes to be reset, depending on how much data it hosts.

3. Boot into safe mode (Android only)

Alternatively, Android users can also try to switch to Safe mode for a few hours. Safety mode basically allows you to use your device with the original software provided – without the third-party changes and the applications you downloaded.

Unlike a factory reset, Safe Mode keeps your device data, and you can return to the regular experience whenever you want. However, Safe Mode is just a diagnostic utility and does not solve the problem.

If your smartphone works well in safe mode, you will know for certain that it is a software failure and will have to implement a factory reset.

To initialize your Android in safe mode on Android, press and hold the power key. At the prompt, tap and hold the Shut down button. The device will restart soon in safe mode.

To exit safe mode, repeat the procedure by selecting the Restart option.

However, there is a chance the process will be a bit different in a custom Android skin. So if the steps mentioned do not work, try contacting the device manufacturer or go to their support site.

4. Turn off automatic brightness

The automatic brightness setting is responsible for constantly changing the screen illumination, based on the light sensor data. But a software update or hardware defect can lead to unexpected problems, including on-screen oscillations. So another direct action you can try is to disable the option in the Settings menu.

Go to  Settings > Display on Android and Settings > General > Accessibility on iOS.

5. Check for updates

It is possible that the problem you are experiencing may have arisen from a confusing software build. In these situations, your best option is to wait for updates with fixes or to browse through the manufacturer’s forums for a temporary solution.

You can even revert to an older firmware that some companies (such as OnePlus) allow. Visit the support web page for your device, find a dated firmware file, and view it using the built-in recovery tool. You will usually find instructions for doing this on the support page.

6. Disable hardware overrides

To render graphics, your smartphone dynamically decides whether the job will be handled by the CPU or the GPU. Although the transition is generally continuous, a damaged or old device may have difficulty forming the compounds. When this happens, there is a slight delay between tasks, which is why the screen fluctuates.

To fix this, you can configure your smartphone to assign all graphics to the GPU. The setting can be found in Developer Options, such as disabling HW overlays. Note that this will consume extra power since the GPU is usually reserved for relatively more demanding applications.

7. Take it to an authorized service center.

Your last resort is obviously to contact the manufacturer of your device and have it evaluated by a professional. If none of the above-mentioned techniques worked, there is likely to be a hardware failure.

There is no guarantee that any of these steps will save your device.
